1. Agreement
These Terms govern the use of the Loci Go mobile app (Android package com.lociar.go, "Loci
Go", "the service", operated by "we"/"us"). Loci Go is designed for families: if the player is a child, a
parent or guardian accepts these Terms on the child's behalf by allowing the child to use the app. The main
Loci app has its own Terms. Our
Loci Go Privacy Policy explains how we handle data.
2. The service
Loci Go is a real-world augmented-reality quiz hunt: players walk to marked spots in a park or play area and answer questions through the camera. Hunts are joined with a code shared by their creator (for example a teacher or den leader) or found on the public nearby list. Loci Go is play-only: it has no accounts, no chat, and no way to create or post content. Loci Go is in active development ("beta"): features may change, break, or be removed, and scores may occasionally be lost.
3. Stay safe in the real world
- Children should play with adult supervision: play together.
- Stay aware of your surroundings: don't walk while staring at the screen.
- Never use Loci Go while driving or riding anything that needs your attention.
- Don't trespass. A marker's placement does not mean the place is safe or legal to enter.
- Respect other people, private property, and local rules; be careful near roads, water, and drop-offs.
You use Loci Go at your own risk and are responsible for your (and your child's) movements and conduct while playing. GPS and AR positioning are approximate: markers can appear some distance from their true spot; never follow a marker into an unsafe place.
4. Fair play
Don't interfere with the service's operation or other players' access, probe its security beyond good-faith vulnerability reporting, or use nicknames that are offensive or reveal someone's personal information. We may remove scores or block access that breaks these rules, at our discretion.
5. Third-party services
Loci Go relies on third-party services (Supabase, map tiles from OpenStreetMap, Stadia Maps or MapTiler, and Google Play services for AR; see the Privacy Policy). Their availability isn't under our control, and their own terms apply to their processing.
6. Disclaimers
Loci Go is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of location data, or uninterrupted availability. Quiz content in private games is written by the game's creator; it is screened automatically before appearing in Loci Go, but its creator remains responsible for it.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, arising from the use of Loci Go, including injury or damage arising from physical activity while using the app (see section 3). Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the past 12 months (currently: nothing).
8. Termination
You can stop using Loci Go at any time by uninstalling it; to also remove the anonymous account's data, see account deletion. We may block access that violates these Terms or harms the service or its players.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms; the effective date above will change and material changes will be announced in the app. Using Loci Go after a change means acceptance of the new Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of the operator's place of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless the mandatory consumer-protection law of your own country applies.
