Loci — Child Safety Standards

Effective date: August 28, 2026 · This is the authoritative English version. It applies to Loci (com.lociar.app) and Loci Go (com.lociar.go).

In short: child sexual abuse and exploitation has no place in Loci. It is prohibited without exception, we work to prevent it, anyone can report it from inside the app or by email, and confirmed material is removed, the account terminated, and the matter referred to the appropriate authorities.

1. Zero tolerance for CSAE

We prohibit child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in every part of Loci. This includes, without limitation:

Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form, including photographs, drawings, and generated imagery.
Sexualising a minor in text, images, quiz content, profile details, or any other content.
Grooming, solicitation, sextortion, or attempting to arrange contact with a minor for sexual purposes.
Trafficking a minor, or advertising, requesting, or linking to any of the above.

This applies to content left at a place, comments, profile names and biographies, quiz games, and any other user-generated content. It applies whether the content is private, shared with friends, or public.

2. Minimum age

Loci is for people aged 13 and over. On first launch the app asks for a birth year before anything else is reachable, and an answer under 13 permanently blocks that installation. The check is confirmed on our servers, and until it is confirmed the account cannot create or share content.

Some regions set a higher minimum age for using a service like this without parental consent. Where local law requires it, that higher age applies.

3. How we work to prevent CSAE

Automated scanning on upload. Text and photographs attached to a place are checked automatically against a content-safety classifier when they are uploaded, before they are shown to anyone else. Content the classifier flags is withheld or removed.
Reporting and blocking. Any user can report content and block its author from inside the app. Blocks are enforced by the server, not just hidden on the device.
Restricted accounts. A guest account cannot share content publicly or interact with other people at all until it is upgraded to a signed-in account.
Private by default. Content is private unless the author deliberately widens it to friends or to the public.
Takedown at the source. When content is removed it is removed on the server, so it disappears for everyone rather than only for the person who reported it.

No automated system catches everything. Reports from people are an essential part of this, and we act on them.

4. How to report a child safety concern

In the app. Open the content and use the report control on it. You can also block the author from the same place. Reports reach our moderation queue.

By email. Write to lociar.com [at] gmail.com with the subject "Child safety report". Include where the content is and anything that helps us find it. This address is monitored for child safety reports and is the designated point of contact described in section 6.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. You do not need to wait for us. In the United States, reports can also be made directly to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) at report.cybertip.org. Many other countries have an equivalent hotline.

5. What happens after a report

We review reported content and act on what we find.
Content that violates these standards is removed for everyone.
Accounts responsible for CSAE are terminated, and we take steps to prevent the person returning.
Where CSAM is involved, we preserve the relevant material and account records as evidence rather than simply deleting them, and report the matter to the appropriate authorities — including NCMEC where that obligation applies to us, and the relevant national authority elsewhere.
We cooperate with lawful requests from those authorities.

6. Point of contact

Questions about these standards, our CSAM prevention practices, or compliance can be directed to lociar.com [at] gmail.com. This is the designated point of contact for child safety matters, and is able to speak to how Loci prevents and responds to CSAE.

7. Compliance with law

We comply with the child safety laws that apply to us, including obligations to report child sexual abuse material to the appropriate national authority. Nothing in these standards limits any obligation we have under law, and where a law requires more than is written here, the law governs.

8. Changes

If these standards change we will publish the revised version at this address and update the effective date above.
