This page explains how to delete your Loci account (app: com.lociar.app) and everything attached to it.

Delete from inside the app (instant)

  1. Open Loci and tap 👤 Me (top right).
  2. Tap 🗑 Delete account, then tap it again to confirm.

Deletion runs immediately on our servers and is permanent: your profile, memories, photos, comments, likes, games, scores, friend connections, and push tokens are all removed. Short-lived server backups age out within 30 days. One exception: where law requires us to preserve evidence (for example content reported under our child-safety standards), we keep the specific reported material and associated account records, and nothing else, for up to 90 days before it too is deleted.

Can't access the app anymore?

Email lociar.com [at] gmail.com with the subject "Loci account deletion request" from the email address your account is registered under (or include your handle). We'll verify it's your account, delete it, and confirm, within 30 days at the latest.

Guest accounts: a guest account (never upgraded with a Google sign-in) exists only on your phone. Deleting the app's data or using the in-app delete button removes it; there is no way to identify it by email, so the email path above can't find it.
Loci Go: the family edition has no accounts screen, so there is no in-app delete button. Its anonymous account holds only scores and any game nicknames (see the Loci Go privacy policy). Uninstalling removes the account from the phone; to also delete its server data, email us as above: mention it's a Loci Go account and include the games or nicknames involved so we can locate it, since there is no email or name attached.

Deleting some data without deleting the account

You can delete individual memories, photos, comments, and games from inside the app at any time: open the item and use its delete control. You can also export everything we hold about you first: Me → 📤 Export my data.

What we can't delete

To pin content to an exact spot, Loci stores an anchor with Google's ARCore Cloud Anchor service. These anchors hold spatial data about the place (visual features of the surroundings) and are not linked to your name, handle, email, or account. They expire automatically within 365 days. Because they live on Google's servers rather than ours, deleting your account removes everything of yours from Loci but does not reach them; they age out on their own.
